Definition Social Work

The new international definotion of social work, adopted by the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) and endorsed by the National Associationof Social Workers (NASW) in 2000, indicates : "The social work profession promotes social change, problem solving in human relationship and the empowerment and liberation of people to enhance well-bein. utilising theories of human behaviour and socail systems, social work intervenes at the points where people interact with their environments. Principles of human rights and social justice are fundamental to social work."
